Hungarian left-back Kerkez signs with Liverpool

The 21-year-old Hungarian national team left-back Milos Kerkez has reached an agreement with English Premier League champions FC Liverpool, and personal terms have already been agreed upon between the parties. The player is very much looking forward to joining the Reds, where he could continue his career alongside Dominik Szoboszlai, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Transfer situation and club negotiations
Kerkez is currently a Bournemouth player with a contract until 2028. The club is asking for GBP 40-45 million (approximately EUR 45-50 million) for his transfer, and negotiations between the two clubs are still ongoing.
Although Liverpool and Kerkez have already reached an agreement, the transfer will only become official once the clubs have also agreed, according to transfer news specialist Romano.
“Liverpool and the player have already agreed terms, and I have been informed that Milos Kerkez is eager to join Liverpool. He is attracted by the opportunity to continue his career at Liverpool, which has been fantastic in recent seasons and will be even better after the transfer. There is already harmony between the player and the club, and Liverpool is making good progress towards an agreement. Federico Chiesa’s agent is also involved in this matter.“
The progress of the transfer may be hampered by the fact that Liverpool is looking to sign other big players, such as Florian Wirtz, which could also influence the process.
Kerkez’s performance and future prospects
Kerkez was a regular starter in the Premier League last season, making 38 appearances, scoring two goals, and providing six assists as a left-back, which is an outstanding performance.
The Hungarian player is also known from his time in the Netherlands and was briefly signed by Hódmezővásárhelyi FC in 2019, although he did not play any official matches there.
At Liverpool, the young left-back could become a key member of the team, especially as Andy Robertson’s departure leaves a gap to fill at left-back. Kerkez’s personal ambitions and commitment to the club are both positive, and experts believe the move could be mutually beneficial.
