Good news: draught beer will be cheap at the 2025 festivals in Hungary: even drastic price reductions will occur

Last year, a pint of draught beer cost HUF 1,200 at the EFOTT festival, an event organised mainly for higher education students. This year, it will cost only HUF 790 (EUR 2), an almost 65% reduction. Other festivals will have very low draught beer prices to attract more visitors. Here are some additional examples.

Cheaper draught beer at Hungarian festivals

Since the Hungarian government is continuously expanding the number of products on which they introduce price caps, index.hu asked festival organisers how, among others, beer prices will develop in 2025. They received answers from four festivals: EFOTT, FEZEN, Campus and Fishing on Orfű. We wrote earlier that Sziget Festival does not plan to change last year’s beer prices.

According to the press chief of the EFOTT, Marcell Budai, a pint of draught Dreher beer will cost only HUF 790 (EUR 2) this year, a significant price reduction compared to last year’s HUF 1,200. For comparison, index.hu reminded that at some Christmas fairs in Budapest, a can of beer cost HUF 1,500 last December. He added that beer consumption fell in Hungary since the Z generation drinks less alcohol everywhere in the world.

Concerning foods, he said they do not have budget offers, but prices will start from HUF 2,500 (EUR 6.2) since sellers got accustomed to the purses of the regular buyers. Moreover, an Auchan market will also be accessible during the festival, offering even ready-made meals at their general price. Mr Budai added that they did not increase their entrance ticket and pass fees.

He said they could not invite A-list international stars, but A-list Hungarian performers will be present on stage.

This year’s EFOTT festival will be held in Sukoró, near Lake Velence.

Cheap beer and food at other Hungarian festivals this year

Csaba Bakó, the press chief of Campus Festival (Debrecen), said a pint of beer will cost HUF 1,190 (EUR 3), but they will operate a pub, where a pint of Soproni beer will be only HUF 790 (EUR 2). The French fries-hamburger combination will start from HUF 2,500-3,000, just like in the case of the EFOTT. Lángos will be HUF 790.

Péter Egyedi, a member of the Fishing on Orfű organiser team responsible for communication, said a pint of Dreher or Pilsner will cost HUF 1,200, while a classic hamburger will be HUF 3,000 with French fries for HUF 1,000. He added their lineup would contain the most exciting Hungarian performer, but without members, bands of the mainstream.

Antal Kovács, the founder of FEZEN (Székesfehérvár), also talked about HUF 1,200, but they said that if one buys four pints of beer, the cost would only be HUF 3,000, which is HUF 750 (less than EUR 2) per one. However, to use that discount, you must show your cool Fezen basket.

There will be 35 restaurants with a very colourful offer. The lineup consists of Pogány Induló, AWS, Vad Fruttik, ByeAlex és a Slepp, Dzsúdló, Valmar, Halott Pénz, Majka, and Krúbi, with international performers like Apocalyptica, Mastodon, Epica, and Kerry King.

A pint of draught beer for only EUR 2

In short, you can drink a pint of draught beer at these four festivals for less than EUR 2, which is a very favourable price even considering the Hungarian general income.
