Zenit Corso, a unique new shopping centre in Budapest, is nearing completion in Zugló and promises to transform the district’s retail and community landscape. With a unique LED-lit façade and thoughtfully designed public spaces, the development offers a glimpse into the future.
New shopping centre in Budapest
As Magyar Építők writes, a new shopping centre in Budapest, Zenit Corso, is nearing completion and is expected to open in the second half of the year. Developed by Bayer Construct Ltd., the complex is part of a broader urban regeneration project in Zugló, located adjacent to Bosnyák Square market. The centre will feature approximately 11,000 m² of rentable retail space, alongside office and residential units, aiming to revitalise the district’s commercial and communal atmosphere.
Modern and innovative design
Construction is progressing steadily, with both the exterior and interior spaces nearing readiness for new tenants. Final touches, including suspended ceilings, paving, and a decorative fountain, are being installed. Zenit Corso will also stand out for its innovative façade, clad in perforated sheet metal. Behind it, a bespoke LED lighting system will illuminate the building each evening, creating a striking visual display that enhances its modern appeal.
More to come…
Complementing the shopping centre and office buildings are thoughtfully designed communal areas. Between the six office blocks, most of which will be completed by mid-year, tree-lined parks, pedestrian streets, and leisure spaces are being developed to ensure a pleasant environment for residents and workers alike. These green spaces are scheduled for final landscaping by October–November. Zenit Corso is expected to become a vibrant and welcoming shopping centre in Budapest.
Other developments
As we reported earlier, while Zenit Corso will be the only brand-new shopping centre in Budapest to open this year, several major redevelopment projects are also on their way. Indotek Group is leading the renovations of Duna Plaza and Alba Plaza, both set to reopen in 2028 with expanded and modernised spaces. Outside the capital, the long-awaited Fórum Debrecen project has also kicked off.
Additionally, Bayer Construct is advancing the Kincsem residential development near Örs vezér Square in District 10. This large-scale project will include 1,385 modern flats, new roads, green spaces, and upgraded infrastructure, further enhancing connectivity and quality of life near key retail hubs such as Árkád, Sugár, and IKEA.
